Black Creek Restoration (Beechtree HOA)

Quickfacts:

  • The project restored 2,300 linear feet of Black Creek in Cary, NC, by removing three eroding earthen dams and enhancing stream stability.
  • It restored 2.3 acres of floodplain wetlands and 3.1 acres were enhanced to improve water quality and aquatic habitats.
  • Stormwater stabilization measures, including the outfall retrofitting and a 350-foot regenerative conveyance system, were implemented to reduce sediment pollution and protect the restoration work.
  • The Beechtree HOA placed 32 acres into a conservation easement to ensure long-term protection.
